Organic marketing focuses on the things you do everyday. The way you greet your customers, or handle returns. The benefits you provide to long time customers, or the special offers you extend to first time customers. Organic marketing is spread through word of mouth, mentions on blogs and internet forums. Organic marketing is spontaneous and trustworthy, because it is spread by friends and family, acquaintances and coworkers.
If 76.1% of consumers say they can remember the brand name of a promotional item they’ve received within the past year1, how is your business leveraging the power of organic marketing?
Seriously, 76% of your customers are going to remember your business, because you went the extra mile and gave them something for free. So, let’s look at some numbers to get a real world idea of how this breaks down.
As an example, lets say your business averages around 2000 one-time customers each year, that on an average spend about $200.00 each. If you gave each of those customers a $10.00 gift of appreciation (approx. a $20,000.00 investment), along with excellent service, and 75% of those customers remembered your brand and came back. That could result in $300,000.00 of new sales in the coming year. Even better, what if 10% of those new customers recommend your business to a friend or family member, thats potentially $30,000 in organic leads.
Obviously, this is all hypothetical, but you have to admit it makes sense. Ultimately, the key here is excellent service. If you don’t have that, your $10.00 gift isn’t going to mean squat.
